Both Cafe 2011 and Portofino, in Longgang's Crowne Plaza Hotel, are spicing things up on February 14. While the cafe promises a 'sumptuous' dinner (RMB468 for two), Portofino will be serving up a special three-course menu and sparkling wine (RMB520 for two) on the big day.

Shangri-La's Café Zen promises to get couples in 'The Mood for Love' with stimulating dishes like oysters, and free flow drinks (RMB520). The Shang Garden restaurant, on the other hand, offers a live saxophone performance and a luxurious spread of imported seafood and meat to get things going (RMB788).

George & Dragon

Sheraton Dameisha Resort Hotel
The seaside resort's holiday specials include a 'Crystal Love' dinner at Capri (RMB1314 for two) and a 'Romantic Valentine's Seafood Buffet' at Feast (RMB999 for two). A package that includes dinner and overnight accomodations is RMB2,214 or RMB2,314 depending on the restaurant. Booking is required at least a day in advance (if you do it by February 10, you can get a discount off meals).

Three restaurants in the hotel have created special menus for the holiday. At Social on the 95th floor, couples can enjoy complimentary champagne and chocolate for RMB999; four floors up, Elba offers the same freebies plus a five-course menu for RMB1,288; at Malt on the 100th floor, guests will be dazzled by an additional LED display and Japanese style menu for RMB1,314.

The Tavern Sports Bar Shenzhen
If the way to a person's heart is through their stomach, make sure you treat your date to one of the Tavern's generous Valentine's Day set meals. The Venice Raytour Hotel Shenzhen
The hotel's Blue Italian restaurant offers a luxurious meal of wagyu beef and truffles (RMB1,314 for two) accompanied by live violin music. One of our favorite craft beer bars in the city is offering a drinks special in honor of both Chinese and Western Valentine's Days.
